What did mummies really look like? Now you can find out. By the 3rd century A.D., the people in Egypt were still practicing mummification, but replaced the old King Tut style masks with realistic face paintings, characteristic of Greek and Roman art. Some of the people in this memory TV exercise had red-bordered tunics, indicating they were probably Roman citizens (possibly a stereotype broken as well).
